According to the filing, the San Francisco-based firm has registered the Anthropic PBC Political Action Committee, which will operate under the shorthand name “AnthroPAC.” The committee is set up as a separate segregated fund associated with Anthropic, meaning it is legally distinct from the company itself but sponsored by it and able to engage directly in federal campaign finance.

Crucially, AnthroPAC will not draw from Anthropic’s corporate balance sheet. Instead, it will be funded by voluntary employee contributions, a common structure for corporate PACs in heavily regulated sectors such as finance, defense, and healthcare. As reported by Bloomberg, each eligible employee will be allowed to contribute up to $5,000 per year, the standard federal limit for individual contributions to a PAC.
